Member Paying Bill at Prosser Office

Paying your bill should be hassle free. That’s why we offer several, convenient ways for you to pay. We accept check, cash, credit card and debit card (American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa) payments. Members may pay online, in person, through the mail, or with automatic deduction.

Benton REA and PowerNET bills are due upon receipt and past due after the 20th of the each month.

Benton REA members can pay and schedule payments online through SmartHUB. 

SmartHub is our secure, online account management portal accessible on your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

With SmartHub you can not only pay your bill online but also report electric outages, sign up for automated payments, access your digital monthly member newsletter, as well as review your past electric use and billing history.

SmartHub Payment Terms and Conditions

You can sign up for autopay through SmartHub or by speaking with a member experience representative at (509) 786-2913.

You can have your payment deducted on either the 8th or 20th of every month from your checking or savings account, American Express, Discover, Mastercard, or Visa.

To ensure your financial security, Benton REA utilizes an automated system for over-the-phone payments.

If you’d like to pay your bill over-the-phone, have your Benton REA account number handy before you call 509-786-2913.

When you receive the Benton REA billing statement, simply place your payment in the self-addressed envelope and mail a check and your completed bill stub (located at the bottom of the last page of your bill) to:

Visit either our Prosser or West Richland office, Monday - Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A member experience representative can assist you or you can drop your non-cash payment in an overnight drop box.

Payments left in the drop box will be processed the next business day.

A payment drop box is available 24/7 at both offices. Payments left in the drop boxes will be processed the next business day.

Past Due Payments

All Benton REA bills for products and services are due and payable upon receipt and become past due if not paid by the 20th day of the month. A late penalty of 1% or $5.00, whichever is greater per month, will be charged to the account if payment of the past due amount is not received before the next bill date.

Disconnection of Electric Service: Electric service will be subject to disconnection for those accounts that have energy charges due that have gone past the current billing month. Any other previous unpaid balances will also subject your account to disconnection.

Re-connection: If an account is disconnected for non-payment, re-connection will be made following payment in full of all account balances due to Benton REA including; collection fees, costs associated with notices, security deposits, pre-payments or required guarantees. A minimum charge of $50 will be made to reconnect service if arrangements are made on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. If the request for re-connection of service is made weekdays after 3 p.m., weekends, or holidays the charge will be a minimum of $300.
