The cover photo on the 2022 Ruralite calendar was submitted by Benton REA member and amature photographer Harold Carlson of West Richland.

“I drove down this gravel road and saw this structure,” Harold says. “The evening light was hitting it so well and luckily the farmer’s crops were starting to show up. I got lucky with this one.”

Harold says he entered this photo in the contest because he thinks of Ruralite as a small-town magazine and felt this photography contest was a more worthy cause than some of the others.

The 2022 Ruralite wall calendar features 13 wildlife and landscape photos by public power consumers.

Members may pick up a free calendar at a Benton REA office while supplies last. Call 509-786-2913 or email memberservices@bentonrea.org to request one be mailed to you.
