Purchasing a Level 2 Charger? We Can Help.

If you are in the market for an electric vehicle, consider Benton REA’s new incentive and loan options for purchasing a faster, Level 2, smart in-home charging station.

The Level 2 (240 Volt) charging station charges an electric vehicle in 8-10 hours as opposed to the 24 hours it takes a Level 1 charging station.

Members may be eligible for both the electric vehicle charging station incentive and loan.  Review the requirements for more details.

Contact Benton REA's member services department before applying for the electric vehicle charging station incentive and/or loan by calling 509-786-8265.

Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Transporation Alliance

EVITA logo - Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Transportation Alliance

Benton REA is proud to be a member of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Transportation Alliance (EVITA), leading the way to advocate for sustainable electric transportation infrastructure in Southeast Washington.

This effort is sponsored by the Mid-Columbia Energy Initiative (MCEI), an industry collaboration effort coordinated through the Tri-City Development Council (TRIDEC). Alliance members include Benton PUD, Franklin PUD, Benton REA and Richland Energy Services, in concert with Energy Northwest.

In 2017, EVITA received a Washington state grant to fill the "charging gap" with DC fast charging stations along I-82, I-90 and US 395. One of these will be located in the Benton REA service territory and located in Prosser. Return here for future updates on the project.
