BentonREA.org/EV Makes Finding an EV Charger Easy

Did you know there are more than 30 public electric vehicle charging stations between Pasco and Yakima?
You can find any public charging station in the country at www.BentonREA.org/EV. Click the “Charger Finder” tab and search by zip code, type of charger and type of connector.
If you’re planning a longer trip, the “Map a Route” feature allows you to view and download a list of all EV charging stations between your starting point and destination.
Whether you own an EV, or are just curious, you can visit www.BentonREA.org/EV to learn more about them.
Get $100 When you Register your EV with Benton REA
Electric Vehicle owners can receive up to $100 from Benton REA for registering their EV with the co-op. Those who install a Level 2 (240 Volt) smart in-home charging station can receive $300 and are eligible for a purchase loan up to $2,000.
By participating in these programs members can help prevent electric outages and keep the co-op’s costs down.
$300 EV Charger Incentive:
- Must be a residential Benton REA member who owns the residence.
- Must purchase and install a residential Level 2 (240-volt) smart charging station for your all-electric vehicle. This is not a requirement for hybrid vehicles.
- Set the charging delay to a time determined by Benton REA (such as 10 p.m.).
EV Charger Loan, Up to $2,000:
- Recipient must be a Benton REA member in good standing with no more than one delinquent payment.
- Must meet all requirements of the electric vehicle charging station incentive.
- Agree to a 3% interest rate.
- Agree to a five year, non-transferable loan.
- The member’s electric service will be used as collateral on the loan.
EV Registration Incentive:
- $100 for vehicles purchased before a Level 2 charger has been installed where the vehicle will be charged.
- $50 if the vehicle was purchased after a Level 2 charger was installed.
- $25 for a plug-in-hybrid vehicle.
- To receive the all-electric EV incentive, members must allow Benton REA to install an Advanced Meter Infrastructure meter on the building where the vehicle will be charged. An AMI meter is not required for the plug-in-hybrid vehicle incentive because these vehicles do not significantly add to the overall electrical demand of the building.
Speak with Ron Mitchell before applying for the electric vehicle smart charging station incentive and/or loan. Email rmitchell@bentonrea.org or call 509-781-6752. All EV and plug-in hybrid incentive applications are available at www.BentonREA.org/EV.
